Change in leadership at Professionals Research and Advisory Council (PRAC)
Syed Ali Raza Abidi former chairman of PRAC resigned yesterday, in what was a very surprise move. Although no official announcement has been made on this matter by PRAC, I had the chance to catch up with Abidi. Unfortunatly there was nothing exciting about his resigning, no internal conflicts or forced resignation. He felt that other members in PRAC should have the chance to progress. So he remains loyal to PRAC and will continue supporting and working for PRAC as it was really his baby.
The new man to take his place is Kunwar Moeez, I don’t know Kunwar Moeez personally but from the very brief information I could gather, Kunwar Moeez is nothing short of a passionate patriotic, highly emotional and hard-working worker of MQM.
Although nothing is clear as yet if things will change in PRAC or a shuffle will take place of their top management or whether new strategies will take place, I wish Kunwar Moeez the best and hope he can fulfill the very large shoes left by his predecessor. Perhaps the publication of an actual research paper by PRAC would be a good step in the right direction.
It wasn’t a baby of one nor one nourished it, it was a wing of MQM. Where people are given responsibilities & PRAC didn’t prevail on its own in short it wasn’t PRAC it was the name of MQM which highlighted people. And MQM doesn’t take decisions without any reasons there will be some, and MQM knows it all like your blog post on PRAC.

PRAC was Ali Abidi’s baby as he pushed for its creations, he spent time in developing a team, promoting it, growing it and the list goes on. It doesn’t mean anything other than that. Don’t try and blow things out of proportion by going on the offensive. MQM is nothing without its workers and its the drive of individuals in MQM who push-forward the agenda.
He pushed it for what sir ? it was MQM who allowed him to work for it. if MQM had not allowed him to run PRAC ! then whoms baby and what effort ? i am not arguing nor i wanted to have any confrontation. & last yes its Workers in which MQM Stands but they stand for MQM they dont stand for their own self
Abidi is a good guy at least i haven’t seen his a single statement regarding it on FB.
I repeat again, PRAC was Abidi’s project, he worked hard for it, day and night, nurtured it, grew it and managed it. Hence it was his baby. There is no doubt that PRAC was part of MQM and that a majority if not all of PRACs members were from MQM.
MQM is as strong as its supporter base and its workers like Abidi who contribute to that workforce that make MQM strong, because if back in the early days, Altaf Hussain didn’t get the support of the Mohajirs there will be no MQM today, its because the people supported him is the very reason why MQM is strong today because they still support MQM. Its a chicken and egg scenario.
